Haiti - Social : Costs of the compensation of demobilized soldiers

Since its creation [Decree of 13 October 2004], the Office of Management of Demobilized soldiers (BGMD), more than 5,500 members of the former Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD'H) have already received the first two steps of the process of compensation, which comprises three.

Nearly 612 million gourdes have already been spent. 1.561 other former soldiers are awaiting payment. 33 of 55 companies were concerned by the compensation process.

Compensation of demobilized soldiers, the figures

2.537 soldiers identified are eligible to an compensation for an amount of 112,322.65 gourdes each. Currently, each has received 37,344,85 gourds.

960 Sergeants will receive 180,000.00 gourdes each. 30% of this amount has already been paid.

352 Sub-Lieutenants identified will benefit of 300,000 gourdes. Everyone has already received 100.000 gourdes.

133 Lieutenants and Captains will each receive 350.000 Gourdes

28 Majors will each receive 400,000 gourdes

54 Lieutenant Colonels and 54 Colonels will each receive, a compensation of 450,000 gourdes.

Note : 1 U.S. dollar = ± 42 gourdes.
