Haiti - Social : Petit-Goâve receives the assistance of Government

Saturday, October 27 at 10 pm, to Petit-Goâve a team from the Prime Minister's Office has proceeded, in the presence of Sandra Jules, the Mayor of the city, to the distribution of 1,800 hot meals to the population affected by the passage of Sandy, which since 3 days are hosted at the Lycée Faustin Soulouque.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Prime Minister and Head of State Michel Martelly "[...] that dish is our sole meal of the day. We have not eaten since this morning [...] our children cried and demanded to eat. This food comes in time," said mothers and fathers. Some young people who received a meal congratulated the government, "Sa a bon wi, Martelly bon bagay", "It is a fraternal gesture, humanitarian, of solidarity" while expressing the hope that the central authorities are continuing this activity daily of distribution of hot meals in Petit-Goâve.

"[...] I am pregnant, I lost everything, I have only the dress I wear, not even an underwear, we are hosted at the Lycée since 3 days, and from Monday, classes will resume work. But where we will go ? It would be necessary to think about our relocation, since we have to leave the school," stated a worried mother.

The peasants of the Communal Sections of Petit-Goâve launched an appeal for help on Radio preference, many people are totally decapitalised, yhey deplore the loss of their plantation and livestock.

In addition, the National School of 10th Palmes was heavily damaged by Sandy and the Director of the establishment asks to the Ministry of Education to quickly perform repairs.
