Haiti - Technology : Important meeting to the OPH on e-governance

Earlier this week was held in the premises of the Post Office of Haiti (OPH) an important meeting between the General Directorate of Post Office, the Coordination Unit of the e-governance of the Primature and executives of the Foundation Network of Sustainable Development in Haiti (FRDDH).

The Post Office of Haiti is committed to accompanied the government in the centralization of the registration and the standardization of domain names .gouv.ht in order to allow to all the Ministries, their Directorates General, the Organizations autonomous and decentralized entities the use of these addresses to identify the institutions of the Haitian State.

The Post Office of Haiti will make available, by the second week of November, the official application form of domain names .gouv.ht free. Applicants will have the opportunity to open their administration to the virtual world of the Information by making the .ht more visible on the internet.

In collaboration with the technicians of the e-Governance Unit of the Primature and executives of the FRDDH, the institutions that adopt the .gouv.ht will have access to web pages easily customizable, and to a database with emails of Haitian resources in Haiti and abroad with which they will be able to make known their respective institutions, activities and programs initiated according to the vision expressed by the Government Martelly-Lamothe for which the e-governance is a priority.

As part of this collaboration, DNS and primary servers will be installed in the country to facilitate the hosting of websites and the deployment of a network that will interconnect locally all state entities on the territory and that will provide access to the population, to the public services that will be online.

By making the interconnection network reliable, the routing of communications between state entities will be made only on the network of e-Government to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of these communications.
