Haiti - CEP : The Proposal of the Executive already generating controversy

Following Wednesday's meeting between the executive and the bicameral commission, where the Executive has proposed a solution of compromise, aimed at the formation of a a College of Interim Management of Permanent Electoral Council, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7157-haiti-elections-the-executive-proposes-a-college-of-interim-management-of-cep.html the controversy did not took long to appear.

Wednesday in press conference, the Senator Moïse Jean-Charles said he was disappointed by the attitude of his fellow parliamentarians, and call the parliamentarians to stop taking part in this process, the time to find another solution... "We reject the proposal [...] there is no question of provisional Council mid-or semi-permanent [...] these negotiations will lead nowhere," he believes that only the establishment of a Provisional Electoral Council, without the presence of representatives of government Executive, Legislative and Judiciary will break the deadlock.

For the Senator Francisco Delacruz, the Executive put on the table, his initial proposal, namely that the Parliament appoints provisionally its representatives to the CEPand like his colleague Jean Charles Moïse, he wishes the stopping of the process, which has just begun, which according to him "only reinforces the confusion."

Moreover, a malaise reigns in the presidential majority bloc of the Lower House, which distances itself from the Bicameral Commission. The Deputy Hogline Pierre, Secretary of the PSP (Parliamentarians for Stability and Progress), deplores and found anomalous, that the majority Boc, who has more than 60 members, does not have any representative in the Bicameral Commission, while the minority block have two. Given this situation, Hogline Pierre has indicated that the PSP was working on its own proposal to end the crisis, which will shortly be submitted to the Parliament and the Executive.
