Haiti - Social : The Head of State followed up its promises

Wednesday, the President Michel Martelly, accompanied by the Secretaries of State for Public Works, Mr. Philippe Cinéas and to the Vocational Training, Ms. Marina Gourgue, went to Savane Pistache, in the district of Grand Ravine (Martissant), in order to follow up on certain promises made in favor of the inhabitants of this impoverished area, experiencing enormous difficulties, particularly in the areas of security, education, recreation and food.

It was for the Head of State to resume negotiations for the continuation of work of roads in this neighborhood and to materialize urgent projects such as the installation of solar street lights in various parts of this communal section, the construction of a football field and an art center, the establishment of a school of vocational training and the promotion of small businesses of "production of mamba".

20 of the 50 solar street lights planned, are entrusted to a management committee composed of citizens of Savane Pistache. 1.000 food kits, soccer balls for youth and other items for mothers, were distributed during this visit.

With the creation of a Police Station and of numerous development initiatives in the area, the Head of State believes that steps are being overcome, to counteract this exclusion whose is victim this population.
