As part of the second qualifying round of the Caribbean Cup of Nations, after their victory Wednesday against British Guiana (1-0), who allowed the Grenadiers to temporarily take the top spot, the Haitian National Senior Selection, Friday for its second match at Grenada National Stadium (St. George), conceded the victory to the French Guiana (0-1).

Score at halftime (0-0)

After the break the Guyanese opened the scoring (0-1). During this second period, our Grenadiers were unable to score a goal, despite their efforts, to maintain at least the equality, which would have allowed them to maintain their qualification.

Final score : 0-1

At the end of the second day, Haiti ranks third in the temporary rankings :

1-Grenade: 4 points 3BP - 2BC (+1)

2-French Guiana : 4 points 2BP – 1BC (+1)

3-Haiti : 3 points 1BP – 1BC (0)

4-Guyana : 0 point 0BP – 1BC (-1)

The last chance for our National Selection to obtain one of the two qualifying places, is to win Sunday its last match, by defeating the team of Granada, which has the advantage of playing at home.

Note that the teams finishing in first and second positions, will join the Antigua & Barbuda, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Martinique and the two group winners of Group 8 to play the final of the Digicel Cup, scheduled for December 3 to 15, 2012 in Antigua & Barbuda.
