Actively sought by the police, Mathurin Kerwins Jacques, alleged member of the criminal network, that would have led the businessman Clifford Brandt, was arrested Tuesday at 4:00 pm at the immigration office at the border post of Malpasse, while trying to find refuge visibly in the Dominican Republic.

Suspected of many crimes, according to police sources, Mathurin Kerwins Jacques was taken late in the day to the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ), under high security by officers of the Brigade of Research and Intervention (BRI).

Godson Orélus, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) stated that the arrest is an important step in the ongoing investigation and confirms the determination of forces, to arrest all the accomplices in this case wherever they are.

While the judicial authorities continue their investigations, others members of the network, including former Inspector of Police, Edner Comé are still on the run.
