Haiti - Elections : Resumption of dialogue Executive-Legislative around the formation of the CEP

The Senator Jean William Jeanty, indicated that the Bicameral Commission, composed of 3 Senators (Jocelerme Privert, Lucas Saint-Vil and Jean William Jeanty) and of 3 deputies (Jean Tolbert Alexis, Begens Théus and Guerda Benjamin), established to monitor the discussions on the implementation of the Electoral Council will hold its second meeting with representatives of the executive branch, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.

The Senator Jeanty indicated that senators are determined to help the implementation of the CEP and that his colleagues have analyzed in recent weeks, the proposal of the Executive to establish a College of Interim Management of Electoral Council in prevision of upcoming election. During this session, senators will share their reactions and comments on this proposal. The Senator Jeanty hope that the negotiations will lead to an agreement on the formation of the CEP.

In addition, the Senator indicated that as part of approaches aimed at including civil society in efforts to set up an Electoral Council, the Senate had conducted several meetings with representatives from the Civil Society, noting that the Senate plans to allow civil society to appoint representatives to the CEP.

The question that arises is to know what formula of CEP, the senators will propose...
