Friday, as part of the dynamic with Latin America in the capacity of the Ministry of Defence of Haiti, Rodolphe Joazile, the Defense Minister, met his Peruvian counterpart, Pedro Cateriano, accompanied among others : of Mario Sanchez, Vice-minister of defense policy, Admiral José Cueto Aservi Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces and General Ricardo Moncada Army Commander of Peru, concerning the cooperation of both countries in the defense sector.

According to a government source, the possibilities for cooperation between Haiti and Peru "have been identified particularly in civil defense" was discussed more specifically, to strengthen the body of military engineers, complete the structures, harmonizing the institutional provisions relating to the defense and extend civil protection "Each party will work on the folders, to seewhich project can take the road," dclared the same source, indicating that no date for a next meeting had been specified so far, adding that other "interesting discussions" with Brazil and Venezuela continued in the same direction.

During his visit, the Peruvian Ministry, also plan to meet with the Peruvian Peacekeeping military contingent of the United Nations Mission for Stabilization in Haiti (Minustah) and representatives of the multilateral organization.
