The Head of State, accompanied by Jean Mario Dupuy, Minister of Culture, met with Mr. Yves Penel, the new Director General of the institution around the various work and objectives set by the new administration to change the image of the only public institution linking training of young artists, production and dissemination of performing arts.

Mr. Yves Penel wanted to stress to the Head of State "Here, we work with our heart, Mr. President, we do not even have a budget, and to save the Haitian culture, I hope you'll join us, and accompany us [...]"

"Culture is what we have. We must work to its enhancement," affirmed the President of the Republic, who took the opportunity to ask the Ministry of Culture to multiply the efforts, so that theatrical activity is encouraged and intensified across the country.

After a tour of the various premises of the institution, and attended a performance of a show of song, of dance and theatrical creation, the Head of State, toured the site of TNd'H and discussed extensively with the artistic staff, about his vision for the development of culture in Haiti.

The President Martelly promised his support and attention in the resumption of the National Theatre. "You made me relive a lot of my childhood," he emphasized while stressing the need to rebuild the space and revitalize the choir and the various troops.
