Haiti - Justice : Me Néhémie resigns of CSPJ 15/02/2013 09:30:03
Thursday, Me Néhémie Joseph, former barrister of Gonaïves put an end to the conflict between of members of the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) and those of the Federation of the Federation of Bar of Haiti (FBH) [of which he was the representative], by officially handing his resignation to the CSPJ also for "security reasons..." acoring to his words. In his statement Me Néhémie Joseph strongly criticized the "lack of leadership" of Me Anel Alexis Joseph, President of the CSPJ, confessing to have serious doubts about the identity of the person who actually led the CSPJ, denouncing the influence of the executive over the judiciary "I heard talk about the independence of the judiciary. For me, it is a bogus independence [...] The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Jean Renel Sanon and the Special Political Adviser to the President of the Republic, have done everything for I leave," he asserts, also lamenting the lack of good faith of some of his colleagues "some of my relatives have betrayed me," while he was waiting for the support of his colleagues in the debates around the dual interpretation of Article 11 of the law establishing the CSPJ, concluding that "all portends a bleak future for the CSPJ."
