Haiti - Education : Reconstruction of the National School of Gressier

The National School of Gressier completely destroyed by the earthquake of January 2010, has been completely rebuilt thanks to the decentralized cooperation and support of the Fondation de France. The municipality of Gressier, Cités Unies France and the Fondation de France have the construction to the tune of 450.000 euros. The reconstruction was carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education with the objective of making of that school a reference for the public schools in Haiti.

The ministry funded the equipment (tables, chairs etc...) and the Embassy of France, equipped the school with digital interactive tables. Accompanied with educational resources designed specifically for Haiti by the association "Haiti Future", these numerical tables allow teachers to implement working methods, truly participatory, while facilitating the preparation of their courses.

Remember that education is a major axis of the French cooperation in Haiti, aimed primarily at the improvement of the quality of education through the training of teachers and administrators, a prerequisite to train executives and the elites whose Haiti needs to continue its development.
