Haiti - Environment : Youth engagement on sustainable development

The duty of World Youth Parliament for Water (WYWP) is to work with young people and water stakeholders in general for the protection of our natural resources, particularly that of water for an equitable distribution on our territory.

In this month of April, the WYWP in collaboration with the Association of Voluntary of Movement of Unity of the Community by the Integration (Mouvement d'Unité de la Communauté par l’Intégration - MUCI), organizes in haiti a awareness campaign to mobilize young people on sustainable development, with the theme "Ayiti nou vle a", by analogy to the theme of Rio +20 "The World We Want !". The theme chosen by the UN this year is "International Cooperation in the field of water".

This project is the result of a partnership between the WYWP, Solidarity Water Europe, the the International Secretariat of water, the Association of volunteers of MUCI, the photographer George Harry Rouzier, the painter Rodensky and Plurielles.

Moreover, in this framework, the WYWP proceeded to the opening of the photographic exhibition The Artibonite watershed" in the presence of the artist Jean-Jean Roosevelt, Chris Jay, Mad-s with "Ouf Ayiti", Rodensky of the l’Artibonite. This exhibition, which highlights all the activities around the Artibonite River, shared between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, is open to the public every day until April 13, 2013 (except Thursday, 11 April) under the tonnelle of the Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL), 143 Christopher Avenue, Port-au-Prince.
