Monday, April 22, on the sidelines of a press briefing held at the Ministry of Tourism, the different actors involved in the organization of the first figure skating show in the country "Haiti On Ice", have reassured the population, concerning the holding of this event on ice [real] on 26 and 27 April at Sylvio Cator Stadium.

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Josette Darguste, Acting Minister of Culture, have welcomed the organization of this international event, which is an ideal opportunity to sell a positive image of the country worldwide. For his part, Francois Yrius, the promoter of the event, promises a good show.

At the initiative of "Super canal prod" 25 skaters including former world champions, as Surya Bonaly and Philippe Candeloro and two Haitians prepare to charm the Haitian public, with their choreography on ice, a surprising first in Haiti.

The Ministry of Tourism, in its efforts to put Haiti on the world tourism map, provided its support for the realization of this great event. This assistance, falls within the general framework of the policy of the Government Martelly-Lamothe, to make Haiti a platform capable of hosting major international events.

Note that the ice show "Haiti On Ice" is registered in the cultural program, of the different official delegations staying in Haiti at the 5th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean.

Haiti's National Police and the Secretary of State for Public Security, stated that all arrangements had been made, to ensure the safety of spectators in the enclosure and in the vicinity of the stadium.

According to the organizers, several news channels such as France 24 and Radio-Canada, will put their cameras on the Sylvio Cator Stadium where will take place this impressionnnant ice show in the Caribbean.
