Three years after its inception, the J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO), founded by American actor Sean Penn, continues to evolve as an organization renowned for sustainable community development. At a time when J/P HRO is moving towards new objectives as part of reconstruction work in progress, Mr. Gary Philoctete was appointed Firector General, placing for the first time the national team under the Haitian leadership.

"The extraordinary evolution of the J/P HRO, from the step of emergency response organization to that of flagship organization in sustainable development is the result of our alignment with the Haitian," declared Sean Penn, Founder and CEO of J/P HRO. "The outgoing National Director, Mr. Benjamin Krause [promoted to Chief of Staff Sean Peen] has done an exemplary job based on the guidelines, commitment and service to the people of Haiti, who led the organization to its current level [...] We are proud of the appointment of the new National Director, Gary Philoctete that brings decades of valuable experience to the organization."

Gary Philoctete will lead a team of approximately 350 employees, 95% of theme are Haitian. Under his leadership, J/P HRO will continue its mission to rebuild a stronger Haiti, by supporting the community of Delmas 32 while transforming their lives through four areas: health, camp management and relocation of displaced, engineering and construction and the community development. Moving towards a new phase of development activities in Haiti, the programs of J/P HRO will continue to provide training related to livelihood and jobs for national workers.

"In three years, J/P HRO has become known as one of the most effective organizations working in Haiti. I will continue to rely on established practices," declared the new Director "This is an exciting time for all Haitians. We are entering a new phase of reconstruction, and I am fortunate to be accompanied by a large team to achieve common goals."

Since the earthquake of January 12, 2010, J / P HRO is present on the ground to work with the most vulnerable, not only to help them recover from the earthquake, but also to provide a better future for their families and the country. The organization maintains its commitment to the residents of the Petionville Club camp and Cité Maxo as they pass from the camp life to than of safer communities and towards the people living in Delmas 32 ​​and surrounding areas. In collaboration with partners, donors, local authorities, community groups and other sister organizations, the J/P HRO has for objective to create models for sustainable and prosperous communities.
