Haiti - Security : New crackdown by the PNH

On the night of Monday to Tuesday, during a police operation, 7 members of a network of kidnappers were arrested, announced Tuesday, Garry Desrosiers, a spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH), in a press briefing at the office of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ)

Garry Desrosiers explained that this operation has allowed to dismantle a gang suspected of having kidnapped and killed an American national of 12 years, after the burglary of the house of a pastor in Santo 19.

Among those arrested there is : Arilus Jean-Louis, Audinès Abellard, Christiana Abraham, Jean Ronel Charles and

Matellus Lerebours indicated the Spokesman of the PNH which also announced the arrest of the suspected killer of Canadian priest, Richard Royal, at the exit of a bank in Delmas, April 25. The identity of the individual has not been disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.

The PNH reiterates its call for the cooperation of the populatio in its fight against insecurity. Recall that from January to May 2013, 17 PNH officers have been subject to armed attacks, including 7 of them died doing their duty.
