Following the alert from the Ministry of Health (MSPP), banning the import and sale of poultry, eggs and live animals from the Dominican Republic, because of the presence of the H1N1 virus https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8735-haiti-notice-import-ban-on-poultry-eggs-and-live-animals-from-dominican-republic.html [information contested by neighboring country, which speaks of human influenza and no animal https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8747-haiti-health-import-ban-a-serious-misunderstanding.html ], the General Directorate of National Port Authority (APN), informs users of ports in particular and the public in general, that under the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) adopted by Haiti, the structure of safety and security of the APN, has been put on high alert.

The APN calls the population to collaborate to the effectiveness of the mechanisms in the ports, in order to prevent the entry or spread of this disease in Haiti and said that any element capable of creating a home of this virus, which could be linked to port and maritime operations will be detected early and will be subject to immediate quarantine.

Also, the Directorate General of the APN solicits the efforts of all actors in the system, employees' union, shipping agents, customs officers, immigration officers, agents of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), users in general and importers in particular for the compliance of procedures of strengthening of this security status for the collective well-being.
