Haiti - Security : Graduation of the First Promotion of Community Police

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe has participated at the National Police Academy, to the graduation ceremony of 40 officers of the first promotion of a Community Policing Unit, within the National Police of Haiti (PNH).

Jodia gras ak jefò Gouvènman an, gen yon bon plan sekirite kap bay bon rezilta nan peyi a. Se yon plan nap travay pou n amelyore chak jou pi plis ak polis la," declared the Head of Government.

For his part, Godson Aurélus, the Director General of the PNH took the opportunity to thank the Haitian and U.S. governments, for having mobilized all the resources necessary for the formation of this first promotion of Community Police and said he wanted to strengthen the relationship of proximity between the police force and the public.

Carl Siebentritt, the Director of Narcotics Affairs at the U.S. Embassy, for his part, reiterated the commitment of the U.S. Government to continue to cooperate with the PNH for its consolidation.

Prime Minister Lamothe, which calls for the strengthening of the PNH, promised to give his full support for a professional national police, effective, law-abiding and resolutely committed to working for the benefit of the Haitian people.
