Haiti - Reconstruction : Visit of construction sites of President Martelly in Petit-Goâve

Thursday, President Michel Martelly, accompanied by some Ministers and Parliamentarians, went to Petit-Goâve, where several infrastructure works on roads, ports and others are in progress.

During its passage in the City of Faustin Soulouque, the Head of State visited the construction site of the Port of Petit-Goâve. The expansion and modernization work of of the port, funded by the Treasury, will be completed shortly. The President also assessed the progress of the construction of the Public Square Faustin Soulouque.

The Deputy of the constituency, Mr. Stevenson Jacques Thimoléon, like so many other son and daughters of the region, has congratulated the vision of President Martellyto provide the country with infrastructure needed for its development. The deputy who did not hide his satisfaction at seeing resurrect the Port of Petit Goâve particularly recalled that this port, in addition to its commercial nature, served as a place of recreation for Petigoaviens in the past.

In addition, the President of the Republic, accompanied by Mrs. Magareth Rose Beaulière, the Director General of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) and Mrs. Marina Gourgue, the Secretary of State for Vocational Training, inaugurated a vocational Training Centre in Lycée Faustin Soulouque where courses in electrical, plumbing, masonry, construction building are provided in four large rooms freshly rehabilitated. A rehabilitation, which is part of the trades training program from third basic cycle, currently operational in some schools. The Training Center was created by the Haitian government with the cooperation of Germany.
