Following the vote Tuesday in the Lower House of the interpretative law extending the term of one year, which according to the Deputy Gluck Théophile, First Secretary of the Office of the Chamber of Deputies, would have been ratified in the same terms as the Senate by 27 votes in favor, 25 against and 2 abstentions, the Deputy Abel Descolines, spokesman of the pro-government majority bloc "Member for Stability and Progress" (PSP) denounces the irregular nature of the vote.

While affirming that the PSP is not against the fact to submit this law to vote of the Lower House, he said that this should be done on a regular basis, explaining that in this case, the quorum was not recognized at the time of voting. Moreover, he categorically denies that 25 members of the PSP were present and that they voted against, as stated by the Deputy Gluck Théophile. he Deputy Abel Descolines says that it is easy to verify his statements, by consulting the report of the session.

Remember that this law already passed by the Senate concerns the Articles 81, 231 and 85 231.1, 231 and 231.1 of the Electoral Act of 2008, which reduced the 6-year term of senators came into office in 2009 to 5 years, setting their departure in January 2014 instead of January 2015.
