Haiti - Tourism : Haiti, elected First Vice-President of the Commission for the Americas at the WTO

The Ministry of Tourism informs that Haiti was elected First Vice-President of the Commission for the Americas at the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) on the sidelines of his participation in the 20th session of the General Assembly of the UNWTO. This session runs from August 24 to 29 at Victoria Falls between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Haitian delegation was represented by Mr. Richard Boncy.

According to the poll results, Haiti received 10 votes against 5 for Mexico and 4 for the Dominican Republic.

On the other hand, Haiti was also elected President of the Commission on Audit of Powers with Qatar as Vice President according to Mr. Boncy.

"The simplification of visa, connectivity and accessibility as well as the election of the Secretary General for the next four years was on the agenda of discussions," according to a note from the UNWTO.
