Haiti - Security : The Haitian and Dominican Police will strengthen their cooperation

Saturday, the Police of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, held a meeting in Jimani, during which it was decided to strengthen the common struggle against organized crime, the drug trafficking and car theft, among others.

At the meeting between Dominican Major General Manuel Castro and Godson Orélus, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), also attended by leaders of Cesfront, J2 and DNCD, the two leaders agreed to establish at the border posts, a Office of attention to common threats (Oficina de Atención a Amenazas Comunes), in order to receive, analyze and process information on illegal acts. According to Major Castro, a database will be established for the joint use and coordination of bilateral actions.

The two heads of police, also heard on the implementation of a training program for their agents and official meetings every six months.
