On Friday, President Michel Martelly who continues his tour in the South, inaugurated the School Our Lady of Lourdes of Coteaux, founded in 1949 and rebuilt by the Haitian government. The ceremony was attended, among others by : the Mayor Marie Yvenie Claude Jean-Pierre, Jean Ary Louis, Departmental Director of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, Deputy Astrel Dolné, Serge Chery, Departmental Delegate South, Klaus Eberwein, Director General of the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES) and hundreds of community members.

The rehabilitation of that school, that cost 12.9 million Gourdes, following a promise made by the Head of State during a visit to this town. This modern school includes eight classrooms, a room housing the Directorate, an auditorium, a toilet block and a playground "I continue to work in the field of education, my main priority to prepare the future of young people. It is an investment that will truly bear fruit over a period of 25 years," stressed the Head of State, who emphasized on vocational training, already effective in 44 schools across the country.

Students of the School Our Lady of Lourdes, through Marlie Moise (7th Year Fundamental) in a brilliant speech and of Dorica Dorismond and Sydney Louis (5th Year Fundamental) in a well-executed sketch, expressed their gratitude to the Executive for this achievement. School kits and food have been distributed on the school yard as well.$

In addition, the President of the Republic proceeded to the official opening of the 18th Center for Reading and Cultural Activities (CLAC) in Coteaux before supervise the work of dam of the river Despa. The Head of State has concluded his day's work in the South by visiting the populations of Chardonnières, Les Anglais, Port-à-Piment and Tiburon.
