Haiti - Security : Ritchy Ruiz arrested by the PNH in Jacmel

Thursday at a meeting with with the local press the Departmental Directorate of the National Police of Southeast presented Ritchy Ruiz, aka "Ti-Ritchy", aged 20, from Port-au-Prince, accused of armed robbery, involvement in the death of the policeman Arnold Pierre Louis in Port-au-Prince (Bel-Air) and illegal possession of firearm. Inspector Ms. Monette Jean Julien, Regional spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), pointed out that the police had arrested Ritchy Ruiz, September 24, during a routine patrol in Bassin Caïman, a town at the entrance of the city of Jacmel.

According to the information available at the Departmental the PNH Southeast, Ritchy Ruiz is part of the network of gangs "Base 117" in Port-au-Prince. Inspector Monette Jean Julien, also stated that Ritchy Ruiz was involved in the death of the policeman Arnold Pierre Louis in Port-au-Prince, precisely in Bel-Air, assigned to the body of Fire fighter at the beginning of 2013.

Ritchy Ruiz, will shortly be transferred to the Capital to answer questions of the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police as part of his alleged involvement in several acts of banditry.

The police institution has renewed its commitment to ensure the safety of people and took the opportunity to continue to seek the cooperation of the people, so that the police can make a much more efficient work in the department of South-East.
