Haiti - Justice : An illegal immigration network dismantled in Guadeloupe

Following a long investigation initiated last February by the Mobile Brigade of Research of the Air and Borders Police (PAF) of Guadeloupe, 5 individuals of Haitian descent, that made paying full price, the passage of our compatriots in Guadeloupe, were arrested last Monday.

Judged in the week as part of immediate appearances, 2 men had a women (Head of the network) have been convicted and 2 others released for lack of evidence on their possible role or responsibility in this network. This network made paid U.S. $ 3,500 for having "the chance" to get to Guadeloupe. Amounts that our compatriots should reimbursed later by working in near slave-like conditions...

The woman at the head of the network, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, half with conditional sentence. The other two men, whose one was installed in Dominica and other in Guadeloupe, the first was sentenced to 12 months in jail with 6 months of conditional sentence and the second 6 months fully accompanied by conditional [!]

Unfortunately, it is not with prison sentences as lenient, that one can discourage these criminals to stop their illegal activities but highly lucrative, at the expense of our brothers and sisters who are victims of these networks.
