Haiti - Army : No room for former FAD'H in the new civil defense force

As part of the establishment of the new National Civil Defence Force, Jean Rodolphe Joazile, the Minister of Defence insisted that the former members of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAD'H) will not be part of this new defense force.

For the Minister, former military will not receive special consideration, they must meet the same criteria that young people willing to integrate the new force, strongly doubting that after 18 years of demobilization, they are still fit for service today...

Monetary compensation is the only benefits to which are entitled the approximately 3,500 demobilized soldiers said the Minister, who pointed out that for the fiscal year 2012-2013, 40 million gourdes have been allocated for this compensation, stating that "half of these officers and soldiers have already received the second payment of their compensation."
