Thursday, as part of the establishment of the Tourist Police (POLITOUR) in North Destination, Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne, Regional Director north of the Ministry of Tourism, met in particular, the Commissioner Carl Henry Boucher, Director of the POLITOUR in Haiti, the Municipal Cartel of Cap-Haitien, the Vice-Delegate of the North, the Director of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, and a representative of the National Police North (PNH North).

Commissioner Boucher, after having made the presentation of the various stages of the constitution and institutionalization of POLITOUR announced that it will be deployed initially in the North, before spreading to the rest of the country in areas concerned.

Through this specialized unit of the PNH, all sites and all tourist activities will be secured, directed and guided in Haiti, taking into account the view of the Government of Haiti to make tourism a vehicle for economic development.

Recall that the Graduation Ceremony of the First Promotion of the Tourist Police [57 agents] took place on Friday, September 27 on the occasion of World Tourism Day, organized by the World Tourism Organization.

"In summary, POLITOUR will be there to facilitate development in the north destination," said Ms. Dieudonne Luma Etienne which reaffirmed the role of the Ministry, that of contributing to the arrival of tourists to come "live the experience !"
