The Government Commissioner, Me Gérald Norgaisse, wrote to the Minister of Justice, Me Jean Renel Sanon to expose him the facts that took place Tuesday at the ONA and in the premises of prosecutors at the Court of First Instance (TPI) of where the Deputy Arnel Bélizaire, at the head of a heavily armed commando, released by force a dozen security agents arrested by the police in the National old-Age Insurance (ONA) and placed under the control of TPI on charges, according to the judicial authorities of "sequestration and conspiracy." Moreover, Me Gérald Norgaisse accuses the Deputy Bélizaire of obstruction of justice, complicity of sequestration and criminal association...

Following this correspondence, the Minister of Justice has formally requested in a letter addressed to the Chamber of Deputies, the lifting of parliamentary immunity of Deputy Arnel Bélizaire. Information confirmed by Deputy Abel Descolines, First Secretary of the Lower House, who said that the reading of this equest was made ​​in the Assembly and that this request will be sent to the "Justice Commission" of the Lower House for analysis, investigation and recommendations on the admissibility or not of the request to lift the immunity of Deputy Arnel Bélizaire.

Abel Descolines reported that after the Assembly, an informal meeting was held with the Deputy Bélizaire to know his version.

In a statement the Ministry indicates that the action of the parliamentary "imperils the foundations of democracy" and hoped that the legislative body will take all possible steps to prevent the recurrence of such abuses that "tarnish the image and the reputation of our parliamentarians "while emphasizing its intention to avoid any confrontation, it requires the return of the accused to justice, so they can be interrogated by the Government Commissioner, in accordance with the law.

Note that the activities at the headquarters of the ONA in Delmas are paralyzed since Monday, as part of the protest movement that requires the revocation of Bernard Desgraff, Director General of the institution.
