Haiti - Tourism : Agreement to strengthen the Hotel School of La Saline

The Barceló Foundation (Spain) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Belgian NGO "Astec" in order to strengthen the Hotel School of La Saline (Port-au-Prince) and ensure the formation of "nearly 300 disadvantaged youth".

In this agreement the Barceló Foundation and Actec decided to support an education project in Haiti to improve the technical training of the Hotel School of La Saline and thus obtain, that Haitian youth in vulnerable situations can get a skilled job, noting that 60% of graduates students from this School got jobs in hotels in the capital after successfully completing their studies.

Recall that the Hotel School of La Saline, located in a poor neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, was opened in 2013 and offers a quality hotel training in three sectors oriented towards the labor market: Accommodation, Bar-Restaurant and Pastry.

This financial contribution from the Barceló Foundation, will enable the School to buy new furniture for its classrooms, equipment for workshops and to have a cash assistance, to continue working with disadvantaged students.
