Haiti - FLASH : The CEP opens investigations of elected candidates

The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) bring to the attention the population in general, to all those interested in the issue that, following the examination of 42 cases transmitted by the Independent Commission for Electoral Evaluation and Verification (CIEVE) [Page 18-28] and after deliberation :

1) The cases concerning the constituencies of Borgne and Grand-Goâve will be reproduced face a new composition of the BCEN.

2) The cases relating to constituencies of : Savanette, Baradères/Grand Boucan, Petit-Trou de Nippes, Limbé/Bas Limbé, Ferrier, Terrier Rouge, Cabaret, Camp-Perin/Maniche, Fort-Liberté, Bombardopolis/Baie de Henne, Gonaïves, 1st Constituency of Port-au-Prince and of Pilate will be subject to an administrative investigation.

The Council reserves the right to initiate the invalidation procedure of power of elected officials at any time of the discovery of proven fraud or misrepresentation, in accordance with Articles 95 and 239.1 of the Electoral Decree.
