Haiti - Elections : Reminder of the PNH to candidates

Following recent incidents that occurred in the context of the electoral campaign https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18692-haiti-elections-fanmi-lavalas-calls-for-sanctions.html https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18717-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html Michel-Ange Gédéon, Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), reminds the candidates that under Article 115.1 of the Electoral Decree "[...] the obligation is made to them for security purposes, to notify the police 48 hours in advance, indicating the place, day, date, time and duration of every meeting, at meetings to public character.

The PNH also recalls that to avoid any confrontation between groups of different political, candidates, in agreement with the police, must ensure to organize their meetings at a distance of at least 1 km from each other (Art 115.1 paragraph 2 of the electoral decree)

The Directorate General of Police, reminded one and all that the police, institution apolitical, neutral and non-partisan, will play its part to ensure a calm and peaceful electoral environment. It asks candidates to help it in this direction.
