A first cargo plane arrived in Haiti on the night from October 10 to 11, carrying more than 68 tons of cargo, whose a part of which from 5 French NGOs (Medair, Médecins du monde, Première urgence internationale, Solidarités internationaI, Secours islamique France). This aircraft carries including : two water purification stations, 13 tons of emergency relief items (pumps, jerrycans, tarpaulins...) and six water sanitation units and their transport solutions (made available by the Veolia Foundation) that will be deployed with the support of ACTED. The cargo also includes kits against cholera provided by the pharmaceutical establishment of Public Health France.

A second aircraft, set up by the Airbus Foundation, will take off this Tuesday, October 11th, with on board 25 tons of cargo provided by Action against Hunger, teams of the Veolia Foundation and 28 military civil security that will ensure the operation of the sanitation stations and of water purification. On the other hand, France decided to increase the amount of emergency food aid to Haiti by unlocking additional 150,000 euros for this purpose.

The priority areas of deployment of French aid will be decided with the Haitian authorities for distribution from Tuesday.

Remember that this French aid is distributed in close coordination with the Haitian authorities and in cooperation with the European Union.
