Haiti - Elections : Important message from Léopold Berlanger #HaitiElections

On this November 20, election day in Haiti, Léopold Berlanger, President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), issued a message to all voters...

Extract from the message of Léopold Berlanger :

"Compatriots from all over the country,

Listen, the elections of November 20th have arrived, the elections are a competition between different political camps.

In this competition, every citizen must make its choices according to its conscience, without any pressure being exerted on them or maneuvers to divert their choice.

Even if your choices are different, that does not mean that we are enemies of each other. We are all Haitians who are looking to move the country forward.

Whatever the outcome will come out of the ballot box, everybody, every institution has an obligation to respect the will of the majority of the people. This is what democracy demands.

This is what will allow the establishment in Peace and quiet of political affairs in the country, so that life is better for the people.

My compatriots,

Let us honor the country in front of all the other Nations, showing everyone that we are able to take our responsibilities without fighting, ket's unite to help our Nation to move forward, let's mobilize with respect for each others, without violence, without intimidation.

Go and do your citizen duty, whatever your social class, go vote in the election of this Sunday, November 20th for your vote counts.

Elections are the affair of all of us, let's vote [...]"
