Haiti - Elections : LAPEH, «Pitit Dessalines» and «Fanmi Lavalas» challenges the results

The deadline for contesting the preliminary results of the presidential elections https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19370-haiti-flash-preliminary-results-1st-round-elections-20-november-2016.html expired on Friday, December 2, 2016, at 10:00 am.

Jude Célestin, "Ligue Alternative pour le Progrès et l’Émancipation Haïtienne" (LAPEH)arrived second with 208,837 votes 19.52%, Jean-Charles Moïse, "Pitit Dessalines" arrived third with 118,142 votes 11.04% and Maryse Narcisse, "Fanmi Lavalas" arrived fourth with 96,121 votes 8.99%, are the three candidates who have officially filed their challenge files before the officials of the Electoral Bureau (BED) West 1.

LAPEH made Friday its filing via the lawyer Me André Michel, always Friday the lawyer Me Levelt Fanfan do it for "Pitit Dessalines" and "Fanmi Lavalas" has filed Thursday through lawyer Gervais Charles. These cases should be heard at BED on Monday, December 5, 2016.

The disputes relating to the presidential election are heard by the Office of Electoral Litigation of the West (BCED) having the Commune of Port-au-Prince under its jurisdiction. Its decisions are subject to appeal before the National Electoral Litigation Office (BCEN), which decides as a last resort.

Front of the BCEN, each party has the right to speak only once to develop its means. However, BCEN may solicit from the parties, at any time during the proceeding, any information required for the investigation of the matter.

The BCEN's decisions are rendered as a last resort by a majority of its members.
