The Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) associates with the Ministry of the Environment and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management (SPGRD) to inform that a earthquake of magnitude 4 on the Richter scale was recorded yesterday Wednesday, April 12, 2018 at 8:45 p.m. and 51 seconds (local time), at a deep of 10km.

The epicenter was located in the North-West department about 10km north-west of Anse Rouge, 13km north-east of Baie de Henne, 18 km southeast of Jean-Rabel and 37 km south-west of Port-de-Paix.

No damage was reported by local authorities.
