The International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) (Regional Office of the Caribbean and Latin America), launches the 6th edition of the Hackathon competition "media innovation marathon" (also known as a "médiathon") which aims to promote the creation and development of innovative information products and services, in line with the evolution of technologies (especially mobile) to meet the needs of the population.

The edition of Port-au-Prince will gather at the local of the incubator "Alpha Haiti" Cine Triumph for 48 hours (September 29 to October 1, 2018) teams of young entrepreneurs, innovators in the media (journalists, developers web / mobile, graphic designers and designers among others) who engage in the production of media content (audiovisual) or who are carriers of digital projects.

During this "mediathon", these innovative project leaders will compete in a friendly competition to advance their projects of innovative solutions (websites, connected objects and mobile applications in particular). Before the competition, a training day will be held for the selected participants and during the competition, participants will be mentored by local and international mentors including: Carel Pèdre, Nelly Kwende, Rachael Orumor and Noël Kokou Tadegnon.

Three prizes will be awarded to the winners of this "médiathon"

1st Prize: US $ 4,000

2nd Prize: US $ 2,900

3rd Prize: 1,700 US dollars

These prizes will be awarded in two installments at the rate of 1/3 in cash and 2/3 to finance the hatching of the proposed innovative solutions.
