The session scheduled Wednesday, April 27th at 11:00am, to allow the appointment of members of the new Bureau of Senate, has failed. The Senators of the majority party (INITE) and the minority senators have failed to agree on the appointment of Treasurer of parliamentary assemblies (questeurs) (1), key position, highly coveted.

However, after a very animated meeting, a consensus was reached on the appointment to the Presidency of Senator Rodolfo Joazile (INITE). However, the "Questure" remains the point of blockage. INITE attempts to impose Francky Exius to this function while the minority group proposes two other candidates: Jean Willy Jean-Baptiste "Artibonite, North, (AAA)" and Nenel Cassy "Nippes, Southwest, (PLB)".

Kély Bastien, the former President of the Senate, has announced the postponement of this session of renewal of Bureau of Senate to today Thursday at the eve of the first session of the National Assembly of the 49th Legislature.

(1) The Treasurer of parliamentary assemblies (questeurs) exert wide powers in financial, accounting and administrative matters within the autonomy of management of the Assembly.
