Haiti - Music : Passing of Daniel J. Python

The Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), has learned with sadness, the death on the night of August 9, 2020 at Mount Sinai Hospital (Miami Beach Florida), of musician songwriter Daniel J. Pyton, one pioneers of Haitian evangelical music.

"In this painful circumstance, the Foundation expresses its deep regrets and words of sympathy to the entire Haitian cultural sector and offers its sincere condolences to the parents, relatives and friends of Daniel J. Pyton, grieved by this departure."

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 22, 2020 at Baptist Bethel Church in Miami.

Born February 22, 1950 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Daniel J. Pyton founded on August 28, 1968 founded with his brothers, the evangelical orchestra "La Symphonie Angélique d'Haïti" for which he wrote dozens. of musical compositions and made several world tours. He trained several generations of musicians through his courses given at the Association of Haitian Christian Musicians, a work of musical education that he pursued relentlessly in the United States of America until the end of his life.
