Haiti - Politic : Joseph Lambert calls the PM to resign and sees himself as President

Tuesday at his home during an interview with CNN, Joseph Lambert President of the third of the Senate whose mandate expires in January 2022, called on Prime Minister ai to resign, saying "Ariel Henry must resign because he has lost the trust of the country and he has failed to give results [...]" a request which joins other voices and whose answer of the Prime Minister Office so far is that the Prime Minister will not resign.

Senator Lambert believes "We need to reestablish the state's authority and restore security [...] This government doesn't represent what we need now, we need a large consensus with all sectors. No one will be able to govern Haiti without a larger consensus," expressing his conviction that a new transitional government should be installed until the next elections can take place, with himself as interim president.

Adding "Our doors remain open to anyone who wants to join us so we can have free, fair and credible elections [...]" declared the one who for a long time does not hide his political aspirations for the post of President of Haiti, remaining deaf to its opponents who accuse him of opportunism by seeking to take advantage of the many crises in the country to try to satisfy its desire for power.

However, less than 24 hours after the Senate vote, Lambert withdrew declaring that his swearing-in as President had been postponed without further explanation...
