Haiti - NOTICE : The sale of fuel in containers prohibited throughout the national territory

The Ministry of Trade and Industry, in order to facilitate a fair and disciplined distribution of petroleum products throughout the national territory, advises owners of gasoline pumps in particular and consumers in general that from Wednesday November 17, 2021, any sale of gasoline and diesel in containers will be strictly prohibited.

Public and private institutions, requiring on-site supply of products, must provide their representatives with an order memo duly sealed and signed by an authorized person.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Trade and Industry reminds all those concerned that, in accordance with the law of December 20, 1946 on illicit speculation (black market) and the decree of November 25, 2020 relating to the sale on public roads, products such as gasoline and diesel, it is strictly forbidden to buy and sell products such as gasoline and diesel in gallons and any other inappropriate container.

The competent authorities will crack down with the utmost rigor against all violators of the law.
