Haiti - Insecurity : The Senate victim of a major burglary

On the night of Saturday April 16 to Sunday April 17, 2022, unidentified individuals robbed the Senate of the Republic located at the Bicentenaire (not far from the Village de Dieu and La Saline) without being worried by the 9 police officers and parliamentary agents on duty at the time of the robbery and in charge of the surveillance..

According to Joseph Lambert, President of the Senate, the thieves woulf have took 3 12-gauge rifles, computers, televisions, a water pump (worth US$10,000), 4 refrigerators, various other Senate materials and documents concerning the last meetings organized by the office with various sectors around a way out of the crisis... For Senator Lambert "There was an internal complicity" an obvious complicity so that these individuals could leave with a relatively large booty voluminous without being seen...

Pending the legal action, administrative and disciplinary measures will be taken against the parliamentary police officers (9 of day and 9 of night). Some will be made available to the Central Directorate of Judicial Police, DCPJ, as part of an investigation, others will be made available.
