Tuesday May 24, 2022, in the Meyer area, a school bus carrying 27 schoolchildren including 14 girls was hijacked by heavily armed individuals.

Following an alert from the Operations Intelligence Center (CRO) of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) informing of the hijacking of the school bus and its young passengers, police patrols of the Jurisdiction of Croix-des-Bouquets were quickly deployed to thwart this mass kidnapping attempt.

Faced with the large presence of the police who invaded the area, the bandits preferred to flee by abandoning buses and students in the area of Bellanton in Carrefour NY.

Safe and sound, the 27 schoolchildren, including the driver and the hostess were escorted by the police to their school.
