Haiti - Weather : Preliminary forecasts for the 2023 hurricane season 23/05/2023 09:36:01
According to the National Hurricane Center, based on a 30-year climate period (1991 to 2020), an average Atlantic hurricane season that officially begins June 1st and ends November 30, 2023 averages 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes. In the past, the NHC has issued a 5-day outlook, but this year the tropical forecast will be extended to 7 days to give more advanced warning of potential tropical storms. NC State University : NC State University forecasters forecast 11 to 15 named storms this season, with 6 to 8 reaching hurricane strength and 2 to 3 becoming major hurricanes. Colorado State University : Forecasters from Colorado State University, also known for their forecasts, predict a below-normal season with 13 named storms, 6 hurricanes and 2 major hurricanes. AccuWeather : AccuWeather forecasters predict a less active season than the majority of seasons since 1995 and could feature a similar number of storms as 2022.
