Haiti - Dubai : Preparations for Haiti's participation in the COP 28 negotiations in Dubai
The Ministry of the Environment has launched preparatory activities for Haiti's participation in COP28 which will take place from November 30 to December 12, 2023 in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Several activities are planned as part of these preparations, including 8 days of training on priority themes for Haiti.

This is the case, among others, of the global stocktake, the global objective on adaptation, the work program on mitigation and Funds and financial mechanisms on loss and damage.

Let's remember that each year, Haiti is represented at the various COPs through intersectoral delegations made up of negotiators in the field of climate change, meeting the accreditation and participation criteria predefined by the Ministry. For this COP28, the accreditation and participation criteria are defined as follows:

  • Goal and objective of participation in line with the priorities defined by the Haitian State;
  • Contribution (added value) that the delegate's participation in the delegation will bring;
  • Experience in the field of the environment, in particular Climate Change;
  • Participation in meetings/workshops and preparation training for COP28;
  • Financing means available.

Haiti's upcoming participation in COP28, in Dubai, once again reflects the involvement of Haitian civil society and the commitment of numerous technical and financial partners to the Haitian Government in the fight against the harmful effects of climatic changes.
