Haiti - FLASH : 4.2 earthquake in Nippes

Saturday February 18, 2024 at 8:11 and 43 seconds in the evening, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in Petit-Trou-de-Nippes (Dept. Nippes).
The epicenter was located at sea at 18.54 degrees north latitude and 73.48 degrees west longitude 250 km north of the town of Petit-Trou-de-Nippes (Dept. Nippes), 52 km north-west of Petit-Goâve (West Dept.), 120 km southwest of Port-au-Prince (West Dept.) at a depth of 6 km.
No loss of life or damage has been reported so far by Civil Protection in relation to this earthquake.
Should be noted that this earthquake was followed by an aftershock measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale, the same day at 11:18:39 in the evening.
