Haiti - FLASH : Flood alert in 9 departments

The passage of a cold front located northeast of Cuba at the beginning of this week makes weather conditions unstable on the Caribbean islands.
The Haiti Hydrometeorological Unit has issued a flood alert for the majority of departments due to the torrential rains which have already started to fall in several regions, notably in the departments of West, Center, Nippes, North, North-East, South, South-East, Artibonite and Grand'Anse.
Due to the precipitation that has already fallen in these departments, the Hydrometeorological Unit has issued a flood alert.
This is why the Hydrometeorological Unit and the General Directorate of Civil Protection ask all people living in areas prone to flooding and landslides to remain vigilant. Always follow safety precautions during heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
