iciHaïti - UEH : Strengthening and energizing the «NUMERIS» project

The Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (UEH), the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the Organization of American States (OAS), the Columbus Memorial Library and the University of Montreal, a member of the OAS Consortium of Universities, recently had an excellent working session on the proposal for the OAS digital project for Haiti.

The Rectorate of the UEH intends to take advantage of the proposal submitted by the OAS to strengthen and boost its digital system and in particular the "Numéris" project, which provides for the creation of a virtual platform rich in institutional resources accessible to all.

To this end, the Rectorate will submit a revised version of the project that will take into account: the conservation of primary sources, works, photographs and various documents on Haiti dating from 1889 to 2020 that are currently in the Columbus Memorial Library and the 20,000 digital works of the "Centre de la francophonie des Amériques" available in open access, but also all the elements that could allow it to make a complete shift towards digitization.

A multi-party agreement (UEH, OAS, Columbus Memorial Library and the University of Montreal) is being prepared to establish the conditions for the implementation of this important project for the Haitian university sector.
