Haiti - FLASH : Conditional Stay Program imminent reactivation

The issuance of advance travel authorization (ATA) for the Conditional Stay Program in the USA (Humanitarian Parole) temporarily suspended since August 2n

d, following an internal report from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), revealing a significant level of fraud https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-42901-haiti-flash-massive-fraud-conditional-stay-program-temporarily-suspended.html , would be about to be reactivated, according to sources close to the American Government.

Employees of the USCIS Directorate of Homeland Security and Fraud Detection have already reviewed more than two-thirds of the 101,000 suspicious applications.

"The program could be relaunched by the Biden administration as early as this week, even if thousands of suspicious applications (± 30,000) still need to be reviewed," two sources told NBC News.

A U.S. government official told NBC that when the program resumes, sponsorship applications will be manually reviewed in small batches, with enhanced review procedures. Any sponsor suspected of fraud will now be immediately referred for further investigation.

More than 2.6 million migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela have applied to participate in the program. As of July, more than 530,000 immigrants had been approved to travel to the United States under the program, according to Department of Homeland Security data.

It is unclear how many of those approved applicants were allowed to enter the U.S. fraudulently with the help of the 3,200 illegal "serial sponsors" cited in the DHS internal report that exposed the massive fraud.
