New Presidential Security Coordinator

On Tuesday, August 11, 2026, as part of the Haitian National Police (PNH) initiative to further strengthen its efficiency, discipline, and operations, Inspector General Jacques Joël Orival was officially installed as the new Presidential Security Coordinator, on the orders of Vladimir Paraison, Acting Director General of the PNH. He replaces Divisional Commissioner Jean Robert Brutus, who served in this role for approximately seven months.

Pétion-ville : 100,000 Gde Fine for Three-Wheeled Motorcycles

On Monday, August 10, 2026, Kesner Normi, the Mayor of Pétion-ville, announced that drivers of three-wheeled motorcycles operating in certain areas of Pétion-ville will now be subject to a fine of 100,000 gourdes. The measure specifically concerns Place Boyer, Delmas 105, and Juvénat. The Haitian National Police (PNH) will apprehend drivers caught in these areas. After the infraction is confirmed, a ticket will be issued, and the driver will have to pay the fine to the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), the Mayor stated.

Consulate of Haiti in Paris Closed
