Regional Director of Migration shot dead

The Regional Director of the National Office of Migration (ONM) in Cap-Haïtien, Kerwin Augustin was killed on Wednesday. Kerwin Augustin, who supervised the northern region of Haiti, was shot dead near his home and died in hospital. Augustin was shot dead by unknown assailants who were riding a motorcycle. The motive for the crime is unknown.

FAD'H soldiers trained by France

The training of around fifty officers and soldiers of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAD'H) will soon be taken over by France. Antoine Michon, Ambassador of France to Haiti after his meeting with the Minister of Defense of Haiti declared "We will engage these FAD'H trainings with the French Armed Forces in the Antilles to strengthen them in their security mission for the benefit of the population."

September 20, "Dessalines Day", a public holiday in Haiti
